How to Apply

For accounts opened in Iowa, certain account fees are subject to Iowa State Tax of 6%, which will be assessed at the time the fee is charged, unless exempt.

The Monthly Fee on certain checking accounts may not be charged for at least 61 days after account opening even if requirements to waive the Monthly Fee are not met.

1. To qualify for the Monthly Fee with Online Statements, you must be a Regions Online Banking customer who receives only Online Statements for this account. To enroll in Online Banking, visit the Regions Online Banking page at regions.com and complete the enrollment process. You must have a valid Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number in order to enroll in Regions Online Banking. Once enrolled, log in and select the Online Statements link in the top navigation under Accounts in order to activate Online Statements. The Monthly Fee with Online Statements will become effective beginning with the end date of the statement period in which Online Statements are activated. If you cancel Online Statements, your account will be subject to the paper statement fee beginning with the end date of the statement period in which Online Statements are cancelled.
2. Regions Relationship Rewards program allows you to earn points for your Regions personal banking activities. The Relationship Rewards $10 annual fee will be waived or refunded if you have a Relationship Rewards Credit Card, ACH direct deposits (such as a recurring payroll or government benefit deposit) to your Regions checking account, or if you have certain types of Regions checking accounts. 3. Available to customers with a Regions Visa CheckCard and who are enrolled in Regions Online Banking or Mobile Banking. Other terms and conditions apply. Click the link above or contact a Regions associate for details.
4. Relationship rates are available for customers who meet and maintain certain relationship requirements established by Regions Bank.
5. Information on Inactive Accounts. An inactive account is defined as an account having no customer-initiated activity for a period of 92 consecutive days. Customer-initiated activity includes deposits and withdrawals but does not include any fees and charges which may be assessed to the account by the Bank. Once your account becomes an inactive account (no activity for 92 consecutive days), you will be notified that your account may be converted to a Check-for-Less account which will be subject to the pricing schedule for Check-for-Less accounts. Your account will be converted to a Check-for-Less account 30 days following our notice to you unless prior to the end of the 30-day period: (1) You initiate activity (make a deposit or withdrawal) on your account, or (2) You contact the Bank and complete all steps required to change your account type to an account not subject. Please refer to the pricing schedule for Check-for-Less accounts in the Additional terms and Conditions section for pricing information.
6. Fee will be assessed whether or not checks are written during the statement period. Fee will apply and be separately charged on your account statement if you request check images with your paper statement. Satisfaction of requirements to avoid monthly account fee, if applicable, does not affect additional fee for check images
7. If you have a 62+ LifeGreen Checking account and do not meet the age requirement, your account will be converted to the standard LifeGreen Checking account and must meet the normal criteria to avoid the Monthly Fee.
8. For the monthly fee waiver, we count all ACH direct deposits that post to your account during the account statement period, excluding the last day of the period. ACH direct deposits that post on the last day of the statement period are counted in the following statement period.

We'll waive the applicable Monthly Fee ($82 with online statements or $10 with paper statements) on your 62+ LifeGreen® Checking account if you do ONE of the following:

  • Have ACH direct deposit, such as a recurring payroll or government benefit deposit, to your 62+ LifeGreen Checking account (at least one of $300 or more, or a combined amount of $1,000)3
  • Maintain a $1500 average monthly statement balance in your 62+ LifeGreen Checking account

62+ Requirement: If you have a 62+ LifeGreen Checking and do not meet the 62+ age requirement, your account will be converted to the standard LifeGreen Checking account and must meet the normal criteria in order to avoid the $10 Monthly Fee.

Overdraft Protection
We understand that things happen. Simply link your 62+ LifeGreen Checking account to another Regions savings, money market, or credit account for overdraft protection.
