You will need the following before you can apply:

Social security number

Mailing address
-
Driver's license number, issue date, and expiration date

Current e-mail address
- Account number and routing number for current account
If filing for a Joint Account, you must have the above information for the Joint Applicant as well.
What you can expect during the application process:

It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete this application.

The online application is limited to two signers per account. For additional signers, please visit one of our convenient branch locations.

Your browser "Back" button will not work during this process.
Funding your new account:
This is an online account opening process. The account must be funded by one of the following:

Existing Regions Checking or Savings Account (must have account number)

A Checking or Savings Account from another financial institution (must have account and routing number)
The minimum amount for opening a Savings account is $50.00
If you choose not to fund your account online using one of our convenient deposit options, you may open your account by visiting one of our branches.
Once you've applied:
Upon approval of your online application, you will receive a welcome kit from Regions via U.S. Mail. Follow the instructions enclosed in the welcome kit and return your signature card to the designated address within 30 days of completing your online application. The funds used to open the account will be unavailable for use until Regions receives your completed signature card.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
