Unique Products and Services for Nonprofits:
Below are a few of the unique products and services we offer Nonprofits.
- Endowed Funds
An endowed fund can make a donor's influence last for generations. We understand the importance of helping you help your donors establish such influential giving vehicles. We also understand the need for you to establish long-term endowment funds to help meet the larger capital needs of your organization and to help sustain your organization overtime.
- Unitized Sub-Accounting
Regions provides accounting structures that allow organizations to pool assets while retaining individual market values for each underlying sub-account. Organizations often receive assets or contributions from a donor with specific use restrictions applicable to the gift. By pooling these restricted-use assets, you can maximize investment management efficiencies while still maintaining the separate market values of the underlying sub-accounts. Some of the benefits of using sub-accounting include:
- It records and appropriately describes all transactions that are specific to any sub-account (for example, a new contribution or distribution);
- It calculates the units to assign to each transaction;
- As appropriate, the system posts an investment pool’s income, fees, realized and unrealized gains or losses, and other allocable items for any designated period of time, according to the units held by each of the pool’s participating funds;
- It provides daily valuations for sub-accounts participating in the pool.
- Grant Administration Services
Regions has the ability to manage the private foundation grant application process, including helping formulate the application, response time and procedure; meeting with the board to review grants; calculating the 5% required minimum distribution; and tracking cumulative grants and multi-year commitments.
- Policy Development and Consultation
Regions can provide consultation on the development of policies to assure that assets are managed properly and that your gifting strategy meets regulatory guidelines. Sample policies and guidance are provided in the areas of gift acceptance, conflict of interest, document retention, spending, and investments.
- Administration of Planned Gifts
Regions provides investment management and administration of planned gifts, such as gift annuity funds, charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts. We can also assist you in working with donors interested in making a planned gift by utilizing our planned giving software to provide illustrative calculations which show charitable deductions and other actuarial values for gifts of cash and property, and by meeting with you and your prospective donors if appropriate.
- Management of Capital Campaign Funds
Regions understands that capital campaigns and sponsorships are necessary to sustain and grow an organization successfully. We can assist you with investing campaign funds on a short term basis to take advantage of the holding period between raising capital campaign funds and final construction. Regions contributes over $10 million annually in the communities it serves throughout its 16 state footprint. We believe in giving back to the community and in developing strong relationships and partnerships with our nonprofit clients. This goal is achieved through a combination of corporate giving to nonprofits, voluntary employee support through board memberships and volunteer activities, and an annual paid Volunteer Day for each employee.
