JOEL R. (JODY) STYLES

Jody currently holds the position of General Counsel for Regions Insurance Group.

Jody joined Regions Insurance from KB Toys, where he was the Risk Manager and Benefits Manager. Previously, Jody was the Risk Manager and Benefits Manager for Dillard Department Stores.

Jody started a centralized Risk Management program for KB Toys that covering 1,300 retail locations along with distribution and internet operations. The process included building a new department from the ground up and implementing best practices at KB Toys. He handled the same operational functions as he had at Dillard’s including traditional risk management functions along with employee benefits. Jody worked with KB Toys through its filing of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, including the process of rejection or acceptance of insurance contracts. Complex collateral issues were handled and resolved in a manner advantageous to KB Toys during the difficult business setting associated with Chapter 11. Prior to KB Toys, Jody was the Risk Manager and Benefits manager for Dillard’s managing a department of 20+ employees with an annual budget in excess of $100 million. His work included placing all insurance for casualty, professional liability, and employee benefits. In addition, he was responsible for managing claims, litigation, corporate safety, OSHA compliance, cobra administration, cafeteria plans, and other matters associated with Risk Management and Benefits Management. Jody also created and managed one of the largest non-subscriber programs in Texas which resulted in a savings of several million dollars per year.

Jody obtained his BBA and law degree from University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and holds an attorney’s license.
