A plan designed for a small business with less than 100 or fewer employees in the last year with at least $5,000 in annual compensation. The SIMPLE plan can either be set up as an IRA or 401(k). For both types of SIMPLE plans, the employer cannot maintain any other type of qualified retirement plans.
