The Corporate Banking Analyst serves as the primary analytical support for senior bankers in the origination and execution of traditional corporate banking products and services, including loan syndications, various capital markets products and strategic and financial advisory services. Analysts also assist in the cultivation of client relationships by conducting research, staying abreast of client and industry trends and participating in industry- and client-related strategic and tactical planning. Analysts participate in client meetings, due diligence visits and other client interactions, during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers. The Analyst works within the Corporate Bank client coverage/origination for Regions Bank and Regions Securities LLC, and provides these services as part of a client team that also consists of Associates, Vice Presidents and Directors/Managing Directors.

Primary responsibilities:

Analysts are expected to split time supporting (a) live deals and pitches across the full spectrum of products and services; (b) supporting general advisory assignments (public and private company buy-side and sell-side engagements, etc.); and (c) research/analysis.    

Incumbents are expected to obtain the Series 79 & 63 licenses within six months of employment.

Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Supporting senior bankers in their relationship responsibilities, including interaction with current and prospective clients
  • Maintaining proprietary databases through monitoring news, current events, transactions and financial information for clients, prospects and other industry participants
  • Understanding client needs and identifying Regions products and services  or other unique, actionable ideas that can help clients achieve their goals
  • Developing and maintaining detailed financial models to value companies and depict projected financial results
  • Ensuring high quality of client deliverables by having strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Preparing written material, including pitches, proposals, client materials and associated supporting analyses
  • Conducting extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction

Successful candidates will be expected to assume a substantial amount of responsibility. The Analyst will be required to work in multiple roles and on multiple projects, both independently and as part of a team.

Analysts typically work in the Analyst position three years before having the opportunity to advance to the Associate position.

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a proven record of high achievement
  • Coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Energetic self-starters with willingness to work long hours, take on significant and multiple responsibilities, and dedicate themselves to excellence and achieving results
  • Past relevant experience preferred (e.g. summer internships or a minimum of one year of previous experience)
