Courtney Jeans

Courtney Jeans is executive managing director and division executive for Regions Business Capital. Courtney joined Regions Business Capital in January 2022, bringing over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most of Courtney's career has focused on lending activities within the middle-market and large corporate sectors in both banking and specialty finance, where he held positions in business development, portfolio management and risk management. Courtney spent his entire career prior to joining Regions with one of the nation’s largest financial institutions, primarily based in Dallas, Texas. Courtney earned a BS and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Finance and Marketing.

Origination Manager

Amy Barrentine is managing director and Regions Business Capital origination manager. She is responsible for leading the Regions Business Capital Origination team nationally. Amy joined Regions Business Capital in June 2022, bringing over 30 years of banking experience primarily in asset-based lending, with the majority of her career focused on origination and underwriting. Amy’s experience spans several major financial institutions. She earned a BA from Mercer University and holds series 79, 63, and 24 security licenses.

Don Smith is managing director and head of portfolio management for Regions Business Capital. He is responsible for oversight of the core Regions Business Capital portfolio, which includes teams that handle relationship management across the footprint. Don joined Regions in April 2006, after 22 years with another major financial institution. His experience includes asset-based lending, leveraged finance, loan workouts, private equity group lending, large corporate and middle-market lending, aircraft finance, government contract finance and healthcare finance. He earned an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Georgia State University and a BA in Finance/Accounting from Furman University.

Gene Wilson is managing director and Regions Business Capital specialty products manager. His responsibility spans oversight of the Trade Receivable Securitization, Supply Chain Finance, Receivables Purchase, Retail Finance and Lender Finance specialty businesses. Gene joined Regions in April 2006, after 22 years with another major financial institution. His experience includes asset-based lending, leveraged finance, private equity group lending, large corporate lending, middle-market corporate banking, risk management and retail banking management. Gene earned a BBA in Banking and Finance from the University of Georgia and a Certificate in International Business from Nijenrode University in the Netherlands. He is a prior graduate of both Leadership Georgia and Leadership Augusta.

Mark Smith is managing director and Regions Business Capital underwriting executive. He has oversight of all new portfolio underwriting. Mark joined Regions in April 2008, bringing more than 20 years of diversified financial experience. Prior to joining Regions, Mark held leadership positions with other large financial institutions. His background includes asset-based lending, leveraged finance, workouts, middle-market lending, auditing and collateral examination. Mark was also the director of financial reporting for a publicly traded retailer and a manager at a large public accounting firm. He earned a BS in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Virginia.

Fred Cecil
Credit Executive

Fred Cecil is senior vice president and Regions Business Capital credit executive. He is responsible for credit oversight of the Regions Business Capital portfolio. Fred joined Regions Business Capital as credit executive in July 2017, after holding various credit leadership roles at Regions over 10 years, including credit executive for Regional Corporate Banking. Fred came to Regions with over 29 years of banking experience from another major financial institution. His background includes business unit management, relationship management, and risk management in the areas of retail, small business, asset-based lending and corporate lending. Fred earned a BA in Accounting from Duke University.

Sharon Cobb is senior vice president and Regions Business Capital chief operations officer. She is responsible for oversight of all Regions Business Capital operations. Sharon joined Regions Business Capital in 2008, after 22 years with another major financial institution. Her experience spans asset-based lending; financial analysis and forecasting for retail, wealth, business banking, commercial middle-market, and real estate lines of business; operational compliance; and loss prevention. Sharon earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Tennessee.

Patti W. Aeschlimann
Customer Service & Operations Executive

Patti Aeschlimann is senior vice president and Regions Business Capital customer service and operations executive. She is responsible for oversight of the RBC customer service teams in Atlanta and Birmingham as well as the RBC collateral management team in Atlanta. Patti joined Regions Business Capital as customer service manager in 2013, after 39 years with another major financial institution, and was promoted to the executive position in 2015. Her experience includes customer service and loan operations in real estate finance, middle-market and credit card services. Patti earned an AD from DeKalb Technical College.
