Electronic Signature FAQs

What does it mean to "Sign Online"?
Regions allows certain eligible loans to be closed online, without the need to visit a branch, using our secure online, or electronic, signature solution.

Is the electronic signature process secure?
Yes. There are a number of authentication methods in place to ensure the electronic signature process is secure and your information remains protected. These authentication methods include email verification, security codes, personal access credentials and other knowledge-based authentications such as out-of-wallet questions.

What is a "signing room"?
The signing room is the online space where your loan closing documents are stored and where your electronic signature is captured.

How do I access the signing room to begin signing my closing documents?
Access to the signing room occurs one of two ways:
  1. If you apply via www.Regions.com, and you choose to “Sign Online”, you will be taken directly to the signing room to initiate the signing and closing process upon approval of your loan application.
  2. If you apply by phone, you will be provided a link to www.Regions.com/sign

Note: Access to the signing room via either channel requires some form of authentication by both borrowers, if a co-borrower is present on the application.

What are my credentials for accessing my closing documents via the Regions.com/sign URL?
Your credentials are provided one of two ways:
  • If you apply online, your credentials will be provided to you via the email address submitted on the online loan application.
  • If you apply via phone, your credentials will be provided by a Regions associate and via the email address you submitted during the telephone application.

If I choose to sign online, must I sign immediately?
If you choose to sign your documents electronically, the documents will be available for signature until midnight central time (12:00 a.m. CST) on the day you select the “Sign Online” option. If your documents expire, you must contact Regions at 888-462-7627 to have the documents resubmitted to the signing room.

I am applying with a co-borrower. Are they required to sign the closing documents at the same time that I sign?
Either borrower can sign at any time as long as it is before the 12:00 midnight deadline on the date you select the “Sign Online” option. If the co-borrower is not present to sign, they will be required to login via the Regions.com/sign URL and provide their login credentials in order to complete the loan closing.

I initiated the online signing process but did not have time to finish signing my documents. How do I continue signing?
If you initiated the signing process, but failed to finish for any reason, you can continue signing by visiting the Regions.com/sign URL. You will be required to log in using your authentication credentials.

Note: If you begin signing and are unable to finish, you must do so by midnight central time (12:00 a.m. CST) on the date you select the “Sign Online” option. If your documents expire, you must contact Regions at 888-462-7627 to have new documents resubmitted to the signing room.

I discovered an error with my loan closing documents. How can I get this corrected?
If you find an issue with your closing package (misspelled name, incorrect address, etc.) please contact Regions at 888-462-7627 to have the issue corrected. Once the issue is resolved, you will able to continue signing by visiting www.Regions.com/sign. You will be required to log in using your authentication credentials.

Am I able to retain a copy of my loan documents although I am signing online?
Yes. Once all borrowers have signed, before you finish and exit the signing room, you will be given the option to print and/or email a copy of the closing documents for your records. You can always request a copy of your agreement by contacting Regions at 800-734-4667.

Will I be able to request a copy of the loan documents from Regions if I misplace them at a later date?
Yes. Our document retention policies are the same for documents signed electronically and those signed in our branches.

I’ve decided that I no longer want to sign my documents electronically, am I eligible to close in a branch?
Yes. As long as your loan approval is still valid, you can choose to withdraw from signing electronically and close in a Regions branch. You must contact Regions at 888-462-7627 to withdraw the loan closing online and request a closing package be prepared to sign at your local branch.

I chose to sign my documents electronically, but how will I receive my loan proceeds?
The timing in which you will have access to your loan proceeds depends on the product in which you were approved.
  • If your approved loan product was a revolving line of credit, your line will be available for advances within 24 hours of the date you complete your loan closing.
  • If your approved loan product was an unsecured installment loan, based on the funding method you selected (e.g. mail a check or deposit into my checking account) loan proceeds will be processed within 72 hours of the date you complete the loan closing.

If I apply for an unsecured installment loan and select “check” as my funding method, where will the check be mailed?
Unsecured installment loans can be funded directly to an eligible Regions checking account or by check. If you choose to have a check mailed, it will be sent to the address we have on record for you. This address may be different than the one used on the application.

You can validate the address by reviewing the Loan Approval Confirmation screen provided for online applications or by verifying it with the Regions associate who assists you with your phone application.

If I have questions during the electronic signing process, who should I contact for assistance?
A Regions associate is available to assist with the online signature process between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. ET. by calling 888-462-7627.
