FAQ

What happens if I pay less than my scheduled loan payment?

You can make a principal payment on your loan by mail, in Digital Banking or at any Regions Bank branch. If mailing a principal payment, please designate this on the payment remittance coupon from the bottom of your statement, and on your check or money order. If making a principal payment in the branch, please instruct the branch associate that you wish to make a principal only payment.

If you use Digital Banking, while making payments under Regions Loan & Credit Payments you will be prompted to select where to apply any payment over your current amount due; principal or towards your next monthly statement.

If you choose “Apply it to Principal”, we will then apply your payment to the principal balance after any past due amounts (including fees and other charges) are paid.

Please note: If there is a prepayment penalty associated with your loan, you may be penalized for paying off your loan early. Review the terms of your loan to determine if this provision applies to you.
