Why did I receive a returned item or paid overdraft item fee?

A Paid Overdraft or Returned Item (Insufficient Funds) fee may occur when an item is presented for payment and there are not enough available funds in your money market or checking account to cover the transaction. Keeping track of your balance is the best way to avoid overdrafts. Monitor your account balances through Regions Online Banking and Mobile Banking, by calling 1-800-REGIONS (734-4667) or by visiting a Regions ATM or branch. You can also sign up for email and mobile alerts (message and data rates may apply).
