Thirty-six million dollars and counting. That’s how much the Regions Foundation1 has invested in communities served by Regions Bank. Each grant is intentionally designed to fuel common results creating more inclusive prosperity and stronger communities.
Regions Foundation supporting communities since 2018
Regions Foundation supports community investments that positively impact the communities served by Regions Bank. The Foundation engages in a grantmaking program focused on priorities including economic and community development; education and workforce readiness; and financial wellness. The Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation funded primarily through contributions from Regions Bank.

The Regions Foundation supports a wide range of programs that are delivered in the same footprint as Regions Bank, which covers 16 states across the Southeast, Midwest, and Texas, and that address three key priorities:

- Financial Wellness
Only applicants who have been invited to apply with an invitation code may submit a funding proposal. Grants are limited to organizations with an appropriate current Internal Revenue Service tax-exempt designation that are eligible to receive charitable contributions.
Organizations must show quantifiable metrics to demonstrate their specific impacts to qualify for consideration.
The Foundation does not support individuals, sponsorships, fundraising events, or meals; programs that are not delivered within the Regions Bank footprint; or programs that are not directly within our strategic priorities.
The Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals and is unable to respond to unsolicited inquires. All applicants are invited to apply with an invitation code.

The Foundation collaborates with bank associates in various instances to identify grant-funding opportunities that align with the Foundation’s goals.
Organizations that have been invited to submit a grant application to the Regions Foundation must provide supporting documentation, including:
- Mission Statement
- IRS Determination Letter
- W-9
- Non-discrimination policy
- 2 years audited financials (most recent)
- Organizational budget, and project/program budget as applicable
- List of board of directors and percentage of board members contributing to the organization
- List of major contributors
- Purpose and objectives of the proposed program
- Plans for evaluating program accomplishments
- Proposed budget for program/project
The Regions Foundation Board of Directors reviews grant applications on a quarterly basis. Applications are evaluated on their own merits and in conjunction with other applications received based on the Regions Foundation’s funding priorities. Grant recommendations follow the Foundation’s governance approval process and must be approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors or its designee.
For any approved grant applications, a meeting will be scheduled between the grantee and foundation staff, the grantee must execute a Regions Foundation Grant Agreement agreeing to the terms and conditions of the grant, including the Regions Foundation – Communication Guidelines.
