What is the difference between ‘available credit’ and 'credit limit'?

Your 'available credit' is the amount of your credit limit that is currently available for use.

Your 'credit limit' is the maximum amount of money Regions has agreed to loan you at any one time. Once your balance reaches the credit limit, additional purchases, cash advances and balance transfers may be declined. Your credit limit is determined by a variety of factors, including your credit history, credit score, income and debts-to-income ratio.

You may request an increase to your credit limit by calling 1-800-253-2265 or visit your nearest Regions branch; you cannot submit a request online at this time. Your request for an increase to your credit limit is subject to approval.
