Regions Help & Support
Why was my Regions card declined with money in my account?
Regions Visa® debit card transactions may be declined even when funds are available in the associated checking account. There are several possible reasons for a declined transaction.
- Card issues — The card could be expired, not activated, or restricted.
- Potential fraud — Your transaction may decline due to suspicious activity, an unusual location, or blocked merchants.
- Authorization limits — The transaction amount may exceed the daily purchase limit.
- Incorrect details — Details such as the CVV (the three-digit security code on your card), PIN (personal identification number), expiration date or billing address, may have been entered incorrectly.
- Technical issues — Network outages or merchant terminal errors may have occurred.
- Card controls — LockIt may be enabled.
