FAQ

What are Key Score Factors?

When a lender receives a FICO® Score, Key Score Factors are also delivered explaining the top factors from the information in the credit report that affected the score. Key Score Factors are shown in order of importance (e.g., the first indicating the area that most affected that particular FICO® Score, the second the next significant area).

This service also provides Key Score Factors to you with your FICO® Score. Knowing these Score Factors can help you better understand the activities and conditions that impact your score. If you have a high FICO® Score (mid-700 or higher), these factors are informative, but not as significant since they represent only marginal areas where your score may be affected. If you have a lower FICO Score, knowing these Score Factors may prompt you to take actions that will help to improve your credit score (such as making timely payments).
